Regional Press Golf Day Forest of Arden

The NewstrAid Regional Press Golf Day took place at the Forest of Arden on 22nd May, on the championship course.

Newsquest Media Group kindly sponsored the event.

There were 15 teams which included: Menzies Distribution, Harmsworth Quays, Newsquest Media Group, Smiths News, Archant, Dawson News, Puzzler Media, Morley House Group and Johnston Press.

The winning team trophy went to SMITHS NEWS – Mark Cashmore, Glenn Leech, Mike Kemble and Peter Kemble with 112 points.

Below is a list of the winners from the other competitions on the day:

Individual winner – Peter Kemble with 39 ponts
Runner up – Ron Coleman with 35 points
Third place – John Bynyan with 34 points
Winner of Nearest the Pin – Alex Mitchell
Winner of the Longest Drive – John Bunyan
Winner of the putting competition – John Bunyan

The day started at 9:00am with registration and bacon rolls. 

It was a 4-ball Stableford team event (yellow tees) and a trick shot show was on display.

A formal dinner with prize giving and raffle prizes, including an auction of 2 x 3 nights stay at a resort in Austria took place later that day.
