118 Newstrade friends and colleagues attended the 2008 Northern ACE Summer Pie at its usual venue - the delightful De Veres Mottram Hall hotel in Prestbury , Cheshire.

Thankfully as has become the norm the weather was once again glorious for all attending.

40 of the guests enjoyed their day of golf on the venues delightful course, the other guests that were able to make a day of it either played cricket at Wilmslow Wayfarers cricket club or bowls at Alderley Edge Sports and Social club, a buffet lunch was provided for guests at all three events.

Those colleagues that could not get away from the office during the day joined everyone in the St Andrews Suite for the 19.30 reception before a superb dinner was provided by the venue.

The prize giving for the winners of the three day time activities followed dinner plus the usual £5 raffle draw / auction.

The entertainment was provided by one of the originals from the TV series the comedians, Mike Millar, who also covered as master of ceremonies for the prize giving and raffle in the absence of our own James H Reeve who had got confused with the date of the event this year!

Once again this annual Northern event was hailed a great success and enjoyed by all that attended.
