Introduction
Following the introduction of new rules and constitution for the governance of ACE which received legal and accounting guidance it is recommended that Trustees are appointed to support the Governing Committee and to provide the recognised Trustee duties of Care, Loyalty and Obedience towards the ongoing rules and aims and objects of ACE.
Appointment of ACE Trustees
There will be 3 Trustees appointed. They should have a good knowledge of the industry and preferably have been an ACE member. They will not be a Governing Committee member as their role should sit outside the day-to-day running of the Association. ACE members and other potential candidates will be made aware of the creation of Trustee roles and applications will be invited to be reviewed by the Governing Committee at the March meeting. They should be fully conversant with ACE rules and objectives and be fully committed to set an example to the ACE membership.
Appointments will commence from May 2006 and be eligible for re-election every two years.
Role of ACE Trustee
- Assist and be a mentor for the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary.
- Agree the ACE Secretary’s remuneration and performance appraisal and recommend to the GC any changes.
- Ensure the finances comply with agreed objectives.
- Act as a custodian to ensure that the ACE rules are adhered to and makes recommendations to the GC on an annual basis on any recommended changes.
- Support GC recruitment policy on ACE membership and advises Chairman on potential new GC members.
- Oversees administration, execution and finances of the ACE Diploma scheme.
Time requirement
Attends 4 meetings per annum with Chairman, Vice Chairman & Secretary.
Annual appraisal and remuneration review with Secretary.
Support and attends as many ACE functions as possible.
Telephone support to Chairman/Vice Chairman/Secretary as required.
There will be no remuneration for this role but reasonable out of pocket expenses will be met and authorised by the Chairman.
