David Fordham appointed President The Newspaper Society Category: Industry
The Newspaper Society has appointed the Iliffe News & Media chief executive, David Fordham, to be its president. Fordham takes over as president of the local and regional newspaper industry trade body from Michael Pelosi, the managing director of Northcliffe Media. "The NS continues to have an important role representing local media," said Fordham. "Local newspapers must be allowed to continue to fight for the causes their readers believe in." Fordham has been chief executive of Iliffe News & Media since 2003. The company publishes more than 40 paid-for and free local papers and magazines, as well as owning independent ITV franchise Channel TV. Harvey oversees more than 100 local newspapers in her Trinity Mirror regionals roles. The Newspaper Society represents more than 2,000 regional newspapers and websites across the UK. The body was founded in 1836 and provides representation and a range of services for local newspaper publishers and information for the media industry. |
