The Passing of Alan Fraser

For those colleagues that have not already heard, its with sadness that I have to inform you that Alan Fraser passed away on Monday 25th January, aged 77.

Alan joined the Telegraph as a young man in 1947. During a long and successful career with the paper he became their Circulation Manager before moving to the Financial Times as Circulation Director for a period of fifteen years until his retirement.

Whilst at the Financial Times he became Distripress President between 1988 - 1990 and received the ACE Lifetime Achiever Award in 1993.

Alan will be sorely missed by his wife Joan, two sons Neil and Ian and their five children to whom he was a loving grandfather.

For those wishing to attend, the funeral will be held at 11.15 am on Friday 12th February at Easthampstead Park Crematorium, South Road, Nine Mile Ride, Wokingham RG40 3DW with refreshments afterwards at The Yorkshire Rose Inn, Forest Road, Newell Green, Warfield, Berkshire, RG42 6AE.

Flowers for family only, however donations gratefully received by cheque made payable to "The British Heart Foundation" c/o A. B. Walker & Son Funeral Directors, Ellen Lodge, 157 Binfield Road, Bracknell RG42 2BB."
