An audience of the industry elite were witness to three exciting, informative and thought provoking presentations from 10 highly talented students participating in Empower 2019

Our students split into three syndicates each supported by a mentor and sought to present answers to the following topics

MULTIPLE RETAIL“What market conditions and challenges are newspapers and magazines facing now? What will these look like in two years time? WHAT PLANS & STRATEGIES SHOULD YOU BE PUTTING IN PLACE NOW TO HOLD RETAIL FLOORSPACE AND OPTIMISE SALES IN 24 MONTHS?”

CONSUMER REVENUE “What income challenges are newspapers and magazines facing now? What will these look like in two years time? WHAT PLANS & STRATEGIES SHOULD YOU BE PUTTING IN PLACE NOW TO DEVELOP REVENUES OUTSIDE OF DISPLAY ADVERTISING TO OPTIMISE REVENUES IN 24 MONTHS?”

RECURRING REVENUE AND DIGITAL “What models are newspapers and magazines utilising now to balance revenues through print and digital? What do these need to look like in two years time? WHAT PLANS & STRATEGIES SHOULD YOU BE PUTTING IN PLACE NOW TO OPTIMISE PRINT & DIGITAL REVENUES IN 24 MONTHS?”
