This year’s award entrants truly reflected “Excellence in Our Industry” we have been overwhelmed with inspiring entries and, with an entry pool 40% on last year, our judges have had an even harder time deciding on the shortlist. ACE would like to thank all those industry colleagues who took the time to submit a nomination; we really value the contribution you have made to the Newspaper and Magazine Awards
ACE wanted to highlight the exceptional entries we have received and in this article we are pleased to feature the nominees for Young Achiever of the Year sponsored by 
This award recognises those individuals who have been working in the industry for a minimum of two years, are under 35 years of age and whose contribution in their role is worthy of industry-wide recognition.
This year the category received the highest ever number of entries and our magnificent seven finalists are:
1. Linda Waruguru who from no experience starting as a temp has showed a great attitude to develop within Reach. Case studies showed fantastic results, especially her use of Social Media
2. Katy Glennon who showed command and leadership to generate growth and success across several categories and mediums
3. Alex Drummond for demonstrating a real desire to make a difference and the ability to deliver campaigns with meticulous planning
4. Annija Strauss for driving new and innovative new revenue stream opportunities, good client management skills and continues to search for ways to engage in self development.
5. Dan Varnham has demonstrated a strong ability to work with people both internally and externally at all levels of the business to drive results.
6. Nikhilkumar Lal for going beyond the job spec and showing innovation, focus and a wide skillset across print and digital
7. Luke Tutt for stepping up to a bigger role part way through the year, Luke has owned the strategy across his portfolio seeking out new opportunities and collaborations to grow audiences and drive result
