What is the Three Peaks Challenge?
The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales.
It is a rite of passage for many in the British hiking community, and we can understand why. Having said that none of us belong to the “hiking community” by any means, but it is a true mark of endurance that will give us bragging rights.
But what does it entail? Put simply, to complete the Three Peaks Challenge we need to summit the highest mountain in Scotland (Ben Nevis, 1,344m), England (Scafell Pike, 978m) and Wales (Snowdon, 1,085m) within a 24 hour window. This includes all of the driving (462 miles), eating and hiking.
They will be working as a team to all get over the line within 24 hours, a requisite for completing the challenge.
